My 1999 F 350 wont start . Occasionally it will fire up and run very well for about one minute [usually after it sat all night]
It has good fuel delivery and there is no air in the line [no bubbles in clear fuel test hose ] There's no restrictions in the lines . I changed the oil ,oil filter and fuel filter .The glow plugs work and the injector harness is fine
The engine valley radically filled with oil once [about a month before this began happening ] It mysteriously stopped leaking and ran fine until turned it off two weeks ago Ive been working on it ever since...Money is a problem and its stuck in a bad spot .
this is my first deisel. I've never had a problem diagnosing any mechanical issues....Until now
Oil can be from the injector pressure regulator (ipr), oil line orings or the turbo o-rings. You need to clean that valley, fill the truck with the correct oil levels especially the hpop recheck before cranking. You will then need a friend to help you crank without cutting your fingers off. My primary thought is the oring on the ipr let go or the ipr is loose. Ill try and find a pic, its been posted many times here.
