Basic Routine Maintenance of PowerStroke Deisel engine
I have a 2002 F-350 SuperDuty/PowerStroke Deisel on order. I will be doing all the basic maintenance myself. I would appreciate any advice on oil changes, fuel filter changes, etc.
Also, I would like to maximize my fuel mileage, by utilizing aftermarket products. Do air filters such as AFE,K&N,and AIRAID really help? How about the HYPERTECH III programer, or SUPERCHIP.
I AM NEW TO THE WORLD OF Deisel engines, and would appreciate any help available!

You can get your oil and oil filter at Wal mart. Oil filters are $10 and you can get Delo 400 or Rotella T in 15/40 weight for about $6-$7 a gallon. Napa also sells high quality air and oil filters. As far as fuel increase mods, I can't help you there. Some poeple claim mileage increases with chips or the PPIII but I know nothing of them. Fuel filter changes are a MUST on diesels. Napa has them as well but they are about $32 each. I have a Western Diesel foam air filter in mine and like the fact that I can clean it and not have to pay $15 everytime I need an air filter. I'm sure I've forgot somethings so if you have any more questions just ask.
