Ran compression test on all cylinders:
7=200 8=100
5=320 6=320
3=320 4=320
1=320 2=320
Put about tblsp of oil in 7 and 8 and reading went up 100psi in each. Can it be anything besides the rings? If it is the rings can I fix it without pulling the motor,possibly pulling heads and oil pan and changing rings? Last thing is What caused this?
Thanks for everything
Tom
Are you pulling the compression test from the glow plug fittings? Possible problems with the copper washers and orings on the injectors and leaking back? 16 dollars to fix that if only.....
Final report: had to rebuild entire engine and turbo previous owner must have put alot of miles on it with a broken air filter box. Had to re-sleave motor due to 6,7,8 cylinders being to far gone to bore. Motor is back in and running. I am still getting the p1316 code cylinders 1-5 high to low side open. What else can it be I have new glow plugs and wiring harness but did not replace the injectors.
Thanks for all the help, Tom

Seems like the only thing left is the IDM, unless two injectors are bad.
I would suspect the IDM first due to the law of averages.
Turns out I changed the IDM and still had problems. Then had 7 injector codes changed out all 8 with reman. from Pensacola Diesel Inc. at $99 each and they dont care about the cores as long as they are fresh out of a truck and not physically damaged. I sent them 6 AD and 2AB injectors and everything is great so far. Thanks for everyones help it was greatly appreciated.
