Ok, I'll throw it out there. I have searched and found the codes for 78-79, but not the earlier years.

Okay... I give up, where did you find this super cool info? I have a 79 F100 that is the most eye-searing color of orange and, God help me, my wife has almost talked me into keeping it that way. ("Oh honey! I love it! It has character!") - I think it's a plot to keep tabs on me- could find that truck in two minutes in a L.A. traffic jam! I will have to check the numbers tomorrow but I'll be curious as to what this retina -jarring paint is called!

sounds like the yellow color of my F250, except for the rust colored accents

The service manuals have the info also as well as the Decoders found on many sites. Check the Read First: FAQ thread at the top of the 73-9 forum for more VIN info and site listings.

as I stated already. Chrome Yellow was the offical Ford colour and was used on many years trucks.

MY suggestion:

Keep it..it is now considered a trendy colour on other vehicles.

Also when it comes to rating plate info there are a lot of carry overs from year to year.
also as far as Info goes I'm loaded for bear.
