Marc, I was engaged to a woman just like that 20 years ago (before cell phones, email and text messaging, thankfully). Ended pretty much the same way, minus the post-breakup drama. You know you've found a real pearl when she says "You did too much for me. You were like a slave, and I can't respect a slave". Nice, huh?

Well, it messed me up for a long time, but I finally came to realization that, bad as it was, it would have been way, way worse had I married her. We would still have broken up, except that some lawyer would have gotten a bunch of my hard-earned $$.

Oh, and her mother was the craziest, most hateful bee-yatch I have ever met. Hands down...no contest. I often would wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, after having a dream (nightmare) about that woman being my mother-in-law. I'm serious.

Eventually I found a woman who's not crazy - just crazy about ME! It took a long time to find her, but she's worth the wait. And yes, she has two sisters, but they're both married. Sorry Styrrell36!

So hang in there, Marc. Sounds like she's the one with the problem, not you. If she persists, you may want to consider getting a restraining order against her.

good luck finding one that aint messed up. i put in 5 years with my highschool sweetheart before i found out she was nuts. it ended badly, lots of fighting, screaming, cops being called. it finally ended when i moved, for work not because of her.

it went back and forth for almost a year, she'd call and leave nasty voicemail messages, i'd call back and leave worse ones. she key'd my truck and slashed a tire, so i smashed her back windshield with a brick. i found out later her father, who i respected greatly, paid to replace the windshield. i owned up like a man and i paid him back.

it worked out ok, i moved, my agreement on my cell phone ended so i got a new number, and i started a new email address. after 2 years of no contact shes as good as dead to me.

i've been dating my new girlfriend for about a year and a half, so far she seems rather sane. were a better match. i already know its meet to be because she'll go to the shooting range with me, the other one refused to be in a room at the same time as a firearm. like the bumpersticker says " i still miss my ex, but my aim is getting better."

Marc I've had a few crazies.I was married to 1 for 10 years. No matter what I did it was wrong.Scream and holler 24/7/365.Oh and I forgot to mention spend money like it was going out of style.Got divorced 5 years ago.Heard all the usual b.s. about taking me to the cleaners.I laughed, told her I was going to quit working then call the banks and tell them to come and get it all.More screaming. Then I told her I was going to have a chat with the scum she was running around with.Even more screaming. Then I told her I planned on taking a baseball bat and a shotgun when I went to visit said scum.Screaming stopped. She later admitted knowing I was serious.5 years later she politely thanks me each week when I deliver the child support and pick up my daughter.Kid is happy and I don't get hollered at.Point is it will get better.Be patient. As for now I ain't looking, I just rent one time to time.Much cheaper and no screaming.

Man, half these stories are bringing me flashbacks...
Here's a good one about my ex-fiance...
My ol' 70 breaks down, I had tickets for both of us to see Hank Williams III, she suddenly decides she doesn't want to go... Find out through the grapevine she'd been spending a bit of time with her coworker from K-Mart. Find out later through one of those myspace things that she'd cheated on me with said coworker, even going so far as to take pictures. I flipped out, and stayed at my buddy's place for about a week, in a drunken coma. Friends wouldn't let me go home, because that's where my gun was, and that would end with me in prison.
I thankfully just sat it out, and spent time with friends and eventually got over it (with the help of a bar floozy ).
Over all, I look back and think; "Man, I was angry all the time, because that girl was crazy, and pushed all that passive-aggressive $*!t on me!" Whioch in turn made me crazy. Never want to go into that state of mind, or a situation like that again. I ended up spending all my time on my 79 4x4, got her up and running, and that was my new love.

Ended up meeting the coolest chick I've ever known up in Santa Cruz, total tomboy, but beautiful. Her brother has a 79 Bronco, and was into tattoos. She worked, had her own place, and little PU truck, no drugs, just drank like a fish, listened to punk rock, country and metal, and never had any problems in the months we were together. Only ended 'cause I'm in L.A. now, and neither of us want a long distance setup. She's still one of my best buds, and comes down to visit, hits the bars, and spends the night (in the best possible way...)

I still get along with some of my exes, as long as they've got a new old-man, sick of the "Hey, maybe we should try again next time we're both single." remark. If we split up badly in the first place, there was a very good reason for it, lets not go through it all again...

Mil1ion, I'm with you 100% on the communication bit. That is the key. You catch one lying once or twice, it's just not worth the heartache. Seems like if you tolerate any of that, you'll just get trampled. There are those needles in the haystack that some are lucky to find, but the rest of us just got to keep looking... (or in my case, just need to get my needle to move 300 miles South...)
Sorry for the massive rant, just good to get it all out at once. As a really terrible punk rock song I heard said, "B**chs won't kiss me, but the bottle will." I'll knock back another PBR to that...

Seriously though, that was a little ways back. I've got a perfectly running 79 4x4, a case of beer, a few good friends, and a good job. I'm satisfied.

Hey, I done that. I think everyone should have a one night stand with a bar floozy once in their life. Yeah, when I was between relationships, I was pretty much a male cougar. But it doesn't fill that empty void... Who am I kidding, it was great.

There's one nighters, and there are EPIC one nighters... This chick bought me drinks all night and payed for a cab to my buddy's where I was staying. I was living on their couch (outside, and riddled with buckshot from July 4th) under a 0 degree sleeping bag. Did the deed on the couch and passed out. Woke up the next morning and she had no clue what my name was or why she was on a couch on someone's front lawn. Gave her a ride home in my beater 70 with a loud clanking from the busted main bearing. Oh yeah, she knew she was with a winner...
She hooked me up with cheap sandwiches and beer at the liquor store she worked at after that (the fancy type, pick a cheese and pesto and fresh cut meat and all that fanciness...)

Back when I was dating (a loooooooong time ago), I believed women were like underwear and needed to be changed often. This kept me single and having fun as all my friends married away. Then I walked into a local watering hole one night and noticed (she was hard not to notice) a tall blond laughing in a booth with friends. I left without speaking to her, but she tracked me down through mutual friends and we have been married for almost 47 years..... I think its going to work out.
