My 66 orginally had windshield washers. the pump is there and works, and the braket, and the squirters. I know that it takes a bag type resevor. Can anyone tell me what bag to look for? are they all the same as in size and mounting points? What color was the bag orginally. I am wanting to get the system working and was wondering what to look for. Thanks
C1AZ-17618-D Washer Bag with Integral Cap-RED "See Clear" (cap was hinged, not removal like the one pictured in the link above).
This is the bag that was installed at the factory, but there were several different dealer installed kits available, and all will work. For example, one from a 63/64 Galaxie with the long BLUE bag will work on a 61/66 pickup. So, it's impossible to say which bag is correct.
Whatever bag you need will depend on the length of the bracket. Since both factory and dealer installed kits were used, there are different sized brackets. So the long blue Galaxie style bag won't attach to the shorter Mustang/Falcon/Fairlane bracket..unless one of those kits was dealer installed on a pickup.

C1AZ-17664-C Washer Pump (fits all late 50's thru 1964 cars & up thru 1967 on trucks.
For slot cars fans, those washer motors can make for a pretty fast 1/24th scale model.
The dealer installed washer kits also can be hooked up to act as sprayers, by routing the washer tees to spray the radiator cores.
Yeah, you can use Rain X to help clear the glass, but cut plug chewing tobacco works pretty good too. In the old days when cars didn't have windshield wipers, it was used with succcess, and still does a fair job today..
Here's one from my old 64 f-100 parts truck...
Well, nevermind, I have a 143kb jpeg but the system keeps saying "invalid file type"... won't let me upload it.
Anyway, mine is red and says "FoMoCo Genuine Accessories" on it.

I could be wrong; won't be the first or the last time either. But wasn't the 64 models below OEM to have a red washer reservior bag, and 65 up to early 70's to have a blue bag. I personnelly replace my old blue bag on my 65 with a 66 mustang black reservoir bag; like the one airharley posted. Check my gallery to see. I use the same OEM bracket from my blue washer bag and attached the 66 mustang version with not problem.
Just didn't know it was a dealer option to select colors; I just always though each color dispay an era of models.

Mitch, dealers installed anything that would work, and there's at least six red bags, and four blue ones. There's at least three brackets.
Mustangs are different and never used the same blue bag the trucks did. The blue bag used on the F Series trucks (from the 63/64 Galaxie kit) was 10 or so inches long, with 5 inch wide white letters that said FoMoCo. The dealer installed kits made for the trucks used a red bag, but because most of the car washer kits would work, you'll see just about anything. Mustangs used the shorty black bag, except = Mustangs made before 8/23/64 had red bags. There wasnt' enough inner fender apron space for the larger bags.
Regardless of whether it's a truck or a Fairlane, what ever washer kit was handy was used. Windshield washers didn't become standard equipment till January 1, 1966.

FWIW- i installed the washer tank from the 76 donor i used and it fit perfectly. ( contour was the same as the fender well). also i had to put a filter between the tank and the nossels as i couldn't seem to get the tank clean enough to stop plugging up the nossels. doesn't take much to plug them.
