It helped a bit with cold starts in temps below zero. Idle smooths out much faster after cranking. Do this mod plus put synthetic oil in, and you'll have a truck that will start no matter what it's like outside.
The HP x-over line acts as a shock absorber for the HPO system, since the engine reads the injection control pressure from the driver's side cylinder head, it does not know the pressure in the passenger side, although it should be the same. This line equalizes the pressure and feeds an even pressure to all 8 injectors.

From just putting in synthetic 5w40, I was completed astounded at how much quieter my engine became. I'm doing the HPX in about a week, once I've completed a fuel ssytem mod first (I want to evaluate my mods one at a time).
My son and I installed one last weekend and we didn't have to remove anything. It will be easier if you remove the intake tube to the turbo but we didn't. Whole job took about 30 minutes and that was with a lot of breaks and talking and father/son stuff.

Same experience here...didn't remove anything and it took about 30 minutes total.
High Pressure Crossover (HPX) line. It connects the driver side and passenger side High Pressure Oil Rails together. This results in a more balanced High Pressure Oil system with fewer pressure spikes.
Installing HPX tonight. The instructions say to catch the oil drain off. How much actually runs out from the plug removal?
I don't have any extra oil sitting around. Will I need to get some b4 I start?
