It should get better. What air that is in the system is being compressed when the HPOP is trying to pressurize the oil to 300psi before the engine will want to start up. Once you get the air out of the system (50 miles or so of driving) the air will mostly be forgotten about.

I still dont understand the "replace annually" thing. Mine has been in for 2 years now, and no problems.

Yeah, me neither. I will keep a close eye on it for leaks but other than that I'm not looking for an "annual fee" to drive my truck. Hows your Sonnax treating you these days? Mine feels sloppy again. Looking for the Bts valve body. Sorry off topic.

The steel line should never need replacing. If you could see the pressure fluctuations on the gauge i had that was not snubbed, you would understand why you would want to change out the rubber hose version every year. About two weeks of driving trashed the bourdon tube in my gauge and now i have a piston-snubber and new guage ready to go in.

Sonnax is still good. Shifts are nice and firm. Remember though, I had to put in a new tranny.

My hpx has not leaked.

I did notice that after a few times of removing the line to pull the turbo etc, that you may want to get up there with a 5/8" wrench and re-snug the nuts on the boss fittings. I had one hell of a leak before i left BTS and when i traced it, it was actually squirting out of the threads, a 1/4 turn to tighten and it stopped.

Save your money and don't buy the HPX. It is unnecessary when you install the BTS Dual Pump setup.

Well, after about 30 miles or so, all smoothed out just fine. Truck is incredibly quieter. My wife noticed right away. Idle is very smooth, speeds above 25-35mph and the truck is whisper quiet. Highly recommend doing this mod, relatively cheap and great results. I love the diesel sound but sometimes when you are on the phone it was just a little annoying. ITP diesel is where got mine, very good service as well.

You should hear how quiet it is with the HPX and blue cps. I freaked out. I took out the blue cps after it failed, and was glad I did cuz I ended up calling Jody. The replacement I was sent rides in the glove box.

Then I did the in tank/prepump mods and its great. You cant really hear the engine running down the highway.

I installed my HPX line last week. All I noticed was a rough idle at times and no other difference at all. And I took every precaution to not get any air in the line. I filled the line with oil first and quickly swapped the fittings.

Mine cleared up right away, how many miles have you driven? I wasn't sure until Kris assured me it would clear the air on it's own.

You can buy a kit that is made of metal tubing or flex hose. I think the one that uses a hose says that you should replace it every year. Thats why I used 1\4" 316 SS tubing. I made mine myself though. There are pictures in my gallery. Just click on my user name.
