Okay i feel like an idiot because i am 17 years old and i ahve been trying to find time to replace my timing gear, that broke in july. I took everything a part and failed to take pictures of every step. Now i have the new timing gear on and im ready to put the timing cover on, but i was thinking of the up coming steps that i must do inorder to get everything working again, such as ac unit radiator etc. And this is why i feel stupid, i cant remember how the bracket for the AC unit goes and howthe power steering pump hooks on to it. I have looked every where for a picture of the engine bay of a 2985 f-150 with a 300 I-6 engine. If anyone has any advice or could provide a daigram or link or anything it would be much appreciated..I wana get my baby back on the road!
You should have a sticker on the radiator support showing the belt routing, that will have the location of the each componet. My 1989 300, had a large bracket that bolted to the block and the P/S pump was inside of it (to the point you had to remove the pulley to get it off the bracket.) The A/C pump bolted just below it. Lower right hand side was the AIR pump and just above it was the Alternator.
my trucks engine bay and compressor dont look like that doesnt look like the ones in the picture and i have multiple belts not just on continuous one.. but i really appreciate it
ok thank you i must have done something wrong then because mine looks like it fits off and to the left of it.. the ac compressor that is.. and then the power steering attaches to that via some bracket and is below it. but i may be incorrect, i just need to verify one way or another thanks again
Possible timing retarded. make sure it is timed right.
Thermostat in backward?
And you don't have a lock on the stupid syndrome...most if not all of us has tore in to something like this and screwed up. It is part of the learning experience.
