Intake Air/Exhaust Manifold Preheat Shroud
Maybe someone can help me on this one............
I have a 1982 F250 4x4 300 ISix. Carter single barrel carb, w/4 speed manual (granny gear) tranny and 4:10 diffs.
I need the intake air pre-heat shroud that bolts onto the exhaust manifold. It's the fairly small sheet metal shroud that the 2" flex-tube stove pipe runs down to from the bottom of the air filter housing's forward snout.
Inside the air filter housing's snout there is a temperature controlled vacuum activated flapper that diverts the warmer air coming up off of the exhaust manifold (through the 2" round stove pipe hose) into the filter housing.
Ford stopped making these exhaust manifold mounted intake air pre-heat shrouds about ten years ago and there appears to be no after-market supplier, unless someone here maybe knows of a supplier.
I also need the intake air filter housing's support bracket that attaches to the front side of the air filter housing, the other end attaches down by the intake somewhere (the bracket is about eight inches long or so.)
If anyone could help me locate these two items (Pre-heat shroud and housing support bracket) I'd really appreciate it. I would think there'd be a few of these (heat shroud) laying around in the South and Southwest as they're not really needed in the temperate climates.
Anyone know of a huge Ford wrecking yard somewhere that has early 1980's parts?
If anyone has these two small parts I'd trade my complete Oil Bath Intake Air Filter Housing for them. Great for dusty areas (Fits singkle barrel carb).
