Go Camping, I see that K & N has after market filter for stock housing. Suppose to increase air flow & filteration. Have any knowledge about it?
Stay away from the K&N drop in filter. I have the K&N FIPK and I am replacing the K&N filter element with the 6637. From what I have read on here the 6637 filters better and adds more power.

56jimmyno1.... Travis is stating the same thing I've seen virtually everyone here in FTE say about the K&N. The extended use of K&N products seems to be highly correlated with dusted turbos and elevated silicone numbers in oil analysis results. My interpretation of everything I've read is that K&N accomplishes their higher air flow values by reducing effective filtration, which is not good for our engines.
I used K&N and swore up and down about on this forum that there was no problems with it ever, until last night when I took my K&N filter off and wiped the inside of the intake tube with a white cloth, you should have seen the black dust/dirt combo that was in there. NEVER AGAIN. Save yourself the worry and do it right the first time.
A good analogy: an old-timer smokes a pack of cigarettes a day and lives to be 85, yeah he is 85 but what do his lungs look like.

I just installed the S&B about a month ago. They were touting their ISO testing, as being a highly efficient filter. Did you have any dust in your intake tube. I hope I can return it to AutoAnything, I don't want to ruin my PS!
When i started shopping for my mods I did a lot of question asking on this forum. The conclusion I came to was the Ford AIS severe duty intake would be my best bet. I had read many post where after guys tried this and that they ended up with the AIS. I like it because it fits perfect under the hood and reuses the mounting holes already in the truck, and comes with a new battery holder to remount the battery securely. I also went with the fender foam mod to get more air. I have not even seen the air guage even budge sine it has been in. It was the first mod I did and i watched after every mod to see if any air was restricted and even now running the 12 race tune, no problems, I would reccommend the AIS I paid like 245.00 total including the fender mod. jeff
