Ok I was wondering if anyone has any of the LED taillights that are available from www.puredieselpower.com ? If so could you post pics....also what would look better on a truck that is Dark Shadow Grey, I am leaning twards smoked but am not sure so pics would help out. I posted links if you want to take a look.

With that color truck I think I would go with either the Black or the smoke. Part of it depends on what the overall theam of the truck is. Is it used for hunting and such or for the show thing.....With my truck which is white i would go with either the Red or smoke.. just a matter of taste.

Well I am actually gonna go kinda with a black/chrome look...I already got my black toolbox, when I get my wheels they will be mosly black. I plan on ditching the factory step/nerf bar's and getting some black baja step bar's. So really the only things that will not be black are the bumpers, grill, headlights, and exhaust tip. I also might keep the fender flares black......so maybe either black or smoked would look the best but even red......well hopefully some people will have already gone through the decision process and have some pics for example.

I can't help you out much but I am definitely interested in what you find out, as I am looking to do something similar. I've already got the smoked cab and mirror lights, and I've been looking to replace the cargo/brake light with a smoked one.

Jvoigt, any news on the taillights? I am really looking for a nice set of smoked ones, but don't like buying blind, and of course no stores carry stuff like this in stock for our trucks.

Matter of fact, if anyone knows about a nice set of smoked headlight lenses I would like to hear about them too.

I havnt budged yet haha I am kinda hoping that some one has some pics. I already know which ones I dont like.....Heck the only LEDS that I have seen that I like are the ones in my links at the begining of this thread....Im keeping my fingers crossed that someone with a set of those will chime in sooner than later cause I am about to get moving on my Project . I am pretty sure that if you would like to get those same ones you couldnt go wrong with the smokedRed or plain Red ones.....heh....they atleast look as good as the stock ones. I was hopeing that someone would have the black set or the smoked set so I could atleast see if they look good. Well I will be patiently waiting .

Ohh! also there is only one customer testimonial on that site about those lights, He said they fit very nice and look good but who the heck know what that means ..........personnaly I want to see some pics of them on a truck and working. Oh also I guess they are made in china or something like that so thats another reason why I am not going to go buy them just yet.

Here are a few things I found on ebay today, but it's hard to tell how they would look without seeing them on a vehicle.

Wow the second one(link)...that one kinda looks cool but I dont like the first one but thats my opinion. I dont like EBAY..just cause those lights could be nice or cheap....if you are thinking of those you might want to find the manufacturs web site and see if they have any pics of the back of the light....Plus with LEDS you want something that will allow you to replace a LED bulb in case it burns out or is defective. I dont know....its a crap shoot I think when it comes to LED tail lights. I am praying that someone will show up with some pics and prases of a certain type..lol

Yeah I like the looks of the first ones when they aren't lit up, but I don't like how they have the red circle of LEDs when lit up. But they are really cheap!

I like the second ones pretty well, as well as the smoked ones in your links, but don't want to spend that kind of money without seeing them.

The film is interesting, but the whole off road use only thing kind of worries me. Although I used to have Lund Eclipse headlight and taillight covers on my 99 and never really got hasseled about them. Matter of fact I might look around and see if I still have my Lund covers laying around somewhere and see how they look.

Check out these...

http://www.optionracing.com//feature...ID=162&catID=3

I got the clear ones, they look good...also got the 3rd stop light unit, conversion headlights (for my 1999 F-350) along with a grille...I like the looks of the headlights, but they are kind of 'lightweight'...the LED's on the outer edges of the headlight units only half worked - but they sent me new replacements without any hassle.

Beerstalker: The harley davidson, lariat outlaw and lariat highline have very slightly smoke lenses on the headlights...

jvoigt: The smoke ones look nice. I wouldn't be too concerned about the life of the LEDS as much as i would worry about how high of grade the electronics used are. One cold solder on the circuit board and there goes one LED if wired in parallel or all of them if wired in series... Like stated earlier, it's kind of a crap shoot. Those are the best looking LED tails i've seen so far though...

Anyone bite on these yet?

I just picked up a LED 3rd brake light. Should have it in a few days. The tail lights are the next step. I like the red smoke ones.
