I was reading the thread on poor mileage what is/does a CPS do? Anyone have a Picture? Also the MAP sensor? Apparently a CPS should have one in the truck 247 to CYA Any input appreciated thanks.
CPS tells the PCM where the cam and crank are in order to fire the injectors in the right order and time..here is an install link http://guzzle.rbmicro.com/cps.htmlmostly it is the EBPS (exhaust back pressure sensor) that causes poor MPG...on the passenger side manifold near the front of the truck you will see a steel tube going up the front of the motor.. right next to the water pump on top just below the fuel bowl you will see a sensor with a wire on top and the steel tube on the bottom..take this tube off and run a wire down through it to clean it out..it will build with soot in there..clean the manifold and the bottom of the sensor as well..be carfull taken it apart..this sensor is around 120 to 140 bucks..good luck
