Thinking of buying 83' Bronco, 106,000 original miles, 300 six cylinder , C-6 automatic, manual locking hubs, body straight and paint nice, interior very nice also; brown and white. Maintenance has been kept up. Really runs nice, maybe around $2000 bucks. I like the inline very much. Just looking for a little input or observations.
I have an 82 with all the same but with standard 3 speed with overdrive. I bought a new 300 big block for$949.00 and the standard I bought a rebuilt for $800.00 in tune she gets 400+ mile to a tank of gas, thats a mix of city and highway.Made it from San Antonio to Texarkana on one tank 432 miles. I love mine and wont part with her.
Getting the Bronco today, traded my 98 Chevy Astro Van with 187000miles, for it. I know I am getting a good deal. The van was clean and straight, and I didn't give over $1100.00 for it at the county auction. Hope I get good service out of the Bronco. Wife says were are going up the mountains in the snow at the end of the week. HAHA!
SWEET...i just refurbed an '83- in gallery i think...rebuilt 351, took her down to metal and painted etc. a lot of rust on mine...not all the way done but much better...nice rig. Love the big bronco!!! owned a few of them.
I'd take the time right away to powerwash the wheel wells- dry real well-treat them with ospho or equivalent and put some poly paint or even rustoleum-brush not spray- on them...even if it's rust free at this point...these things will go to pot in a hurry once it starts. Check out all the usual places and treat/seal. keep it forever!
I will take your advise on those fender wells; she has no rust right now, the guy I got it from bought it new in 83', kept in his garage when not driving it. paint and interior still look new. I have to do a little carb work and may cut the catalytic con. off and get rid of air pump, so that 300 will move a little quicker. But I love this vehicle already. Manual windows and locks, no cruise, just AC and radio. Thanks again
If you get time go to lmctruck.com and order thier free catalog,it has alot of stuff I would like to add to my 82 now, if I only had about $20,000 to drop into her.

I love bronco's- think i already said that.
I am refurbing a 77f150 4x4, 72 torino cj and 70.5 falcon (torino body) and the '83 bronco which is nearly done. When i am done all will have enough zink oxide and topcoat all over to never rust again. Man i hate rust...has ruined many a fine vehicle. I bought a 79 bronco with a chevy stomping 429 in it and 2500 metallic gunpowder silver paint that was incredible with nice crome and 6 mos later rust came through on ever qrtr panel...i was fit to be tied.
you gotta get to the good metal with zink and then seal it..take your time when you do it and you will be in good shape and not have to experience the 'shame' of regret...you can drink some brew while your at it.
