ball joint replacement
Done this exact deal on other trucks, just looking for the details for replacing the ball joints on my truck(SD in signature) from anyone who has done so. One lower is a little sloppy, so I figure with spring/summer and lots of towing around the corner, I will do all ball joints. Replacing hubs at the same time.

Thanks for the link, I figured it was routine.
I will probably just let the machine shop press the ball joints out and in.

And here is the procedure produced by one of our very own moderators here at the forum .....

You will also see there how to build a simple tool to install that large seal, using $12 of parts from the hardware store.

I just did mine and found a great deal on a parts kit over at powerstrokeshop.com. It was about $240 for all the seals and Moog ball joints.

That is where I am planning on getting a kit too! Those guys have great kits at great prices.
