Boys, I'm at the dealership buying the X and I wanted to see if I can get them to do the telescoping mirrors but as you now, they're not really sure what they're doing.
Can I do the telescoping mirrors from some OTHER Ford truck and put them on my 2005 Excursion Limited or not?
How much would they be if I bought them as a spare part at a Ford dealer and how much after market and will they have the TURN signals in them?
Thanks
I would appreciate a quick reply here as I'm at the dealership right now.
All the same. F series or Excursion. Most aftermarket ones I have seen have no signals. I believe signals are on 04 and up factory ones only. Not sure on price but I would guess around $400 for Factory ones.
Actually all 99 to 07 Super Duty tow mirrors will fit on an Excursion. There are, however, some differences between all the tow mirrors themselves. But none of those differences make any difference for fitment.
More than likely you saw the Aero-mirrors, which are standard on all Super Dutys and Excursions.
I have a 2000 X and bought a pair of the aftermarket towing mirrors on eBay from ProCarParts.com for about $180 including shipping. They look identical to the stock mirrors and have the remote feature and are heated. They don't have the lights in them.
Installation was pretty easy, but I had to pull the door panel so I could reach the electrical plug but it only took about 30 minutes for the first mirror and about 20 minutes for the second one. I've been real happy with them.
They had one on ebay a couple of weeks ago. They were going for i think $300.00. I would search for them on there and see if you can find them any cheaper. Like monster said they will all fit on the excursion.
I kinda like the turn signal in mine and I don't think they have the telescoping ones with turn signal, double mirror, heated AND front side turn signal (orange glass) do they?
