I have a 1974 F350. Thje tag says it is a 137 W.B. I need parking brake cables. The after market ones from napa are about 2" too short. I have check many after marker companies. Today I called Ford and they say these are the part numbers. Front E4TZ 2853 C Left rear D6TZ 2A635C Right Rear D6TZ
My comncern is; both rear cables look like they are the same. At least what I found on this truck.
How can I verify these numbers? The ford places arouind here want nothing to do with the old stuff not on the computer. I am getting tired of getting the wrong parts because the parts guy didn't read the "note at the bottom of the page".
Next question is, where do I find these cables.
I have bought from a place called "Obsolete Parts". Great people but, I am not sure these part numbers are correct.
The after market cables are also junk. They are of very poor quality and I can remember back in the day replacing aftermarket cables frequently because they would seize.
Thanks but, why couldn't 4 different stores yesterday find this? Also why does ford say there are two, one left and one right? The ones I took off looked the same.
I will go to the oparts house today and run these numbers.

I have no idea where the ford parts guy came up with the numbers he gave me. As i stated, he said there are rights and lefts.
I am going to try and get the raybestos ones and see if they measure up.
On ebay sometimes there are parts lists on disc. Will the correct parts for my truck be shown on these CDs?
Maybe I should invest in one of these.
Thanks to all and I owe each of you an Ice tea some day.

R/L rear cables are the same if you have a 73/74 F350 Regular cab WITH 136/137 wheelbase. The cables I listed are the only ones the book calls for.
PARTS LIST SECTION 23.2 #17B will confirm this.
CD's only as good as guy who made them, and are not Ford authorized. Some ebay sellers copy earlier edition of parts books. It's a catch-as-catch-can inre to correct info. I am using the last edition of the books. They are Genuine Ford, not some fleabay aftermarket crap.

When dealers went to computers, they tossed out all the (O.S.I.) Obsolete Supercede Interchange books. Try and find one. I bid $50.00 on one on fleabay recently..didn't get it. Sniped.
