I recently bought a 77 F150 4x4. The guy I bought it from told me it had a 351M in it, but once I got it home and looked up the VIN I found that it oiginally came with a 400. I should point out that the fella I bought it from knew very litle about the truck, he had traded a boat for it and never really drove it. There has been work done to in the past, Edelbrock intake and Carb. I know that there really isn't any way to tell a 351M from a 400 with out checking he crank, but I was wondering if any of y'all knew how to find out if the engine is original to the truck? Thanks for any help.
