i have been to wal mart, autozone, in the ford section of touch up paints there is no black for ford.
chevy and other makes there is black but not for ford.
anyone here have black ford and has bought some touch up paint?
Did you take the paint code from your door VIN sticker and try crossing it over in the parts store paint charts? Some of the touch up paint these places carry might say Chevy or Dodge on the tubes, but that doesn't mean much.
The chart will list the manufactures paint codes on one side, the parts stores touch up paint number on the other.
On your sticker, the Paint Code will be above the line, not below. The code on a single tone painted vehicle will be two numbers, two letters, or one letter and one number...TWO DIGITS ONLY!

i just didnt want to take any ol black off the shelf, to do a little touch up.
my cuz borrowed my truck to help his girlfriend move, he comes back 4 hrs later a little cocked.
go out next morning and i have got a couple of scratches on the side rails in the bed.
another reason why i dont drink.
also i noticed in the engine compartment it gives diagrams for the engines on which way the belt goes on. thats pretty cool, its a nice illustration, dont know if the older models have that on it.
If all else fails buddy, the good ole ford stealership will have it. I've got to the point, that whenever I get a new ride, I automatically get touch up paint before I leave the dealer with the vehicle and keep it in the glove box with the owners manual. It's like having insurance, if you have it, you never need it, but when you don't have it, thats when you will need it, never fails. It's like if you want it to rain, just wash your truck ha ha.
lol,
thnx wendell, ive got like a 5 inch scratch, ill try about 1 inch of this universal black, let it dry and see how it looks,if not good ill go to ford for it.
These are some of the best guys out there. With these guys, they'll not only bend-over backward to match your paint, you can get it from them in pen, small touch-up container with brush, 12oz. spray can, or enough to re-paint your entire truck. You can also get the needed clearcoat in the same type of container you got the basecoat in to really make the scratch blend-in. I've used them several times (yes, I'm known for putting dings and scratches in vehicles). This last time was to match my wifes brand new 2007 that has a color so new that not even the dealer or the body shop they use could get me the paint yet. Paintscratch not only found the formula, but was able to get the paint to me in about 4 working days. Great guys.
thanks envirocon and mil1ion, i will look into getting a small tube from them. it was raining last night so i couldnt try the universal black, and i wont now, until i give these guys a try.
i love this site, its a simple queston about touch up, i could have gone to the dealer for it, but i save that for buying and work i cant perform.
