I would suspect he is talking about a 3" PVC pipe coupling which has a 4" outside diameter. The reason being is, 3" PVC pipe is 3" inside diameter with a 1/4" wall thickness or 3 1/2" OD The coupling has to be 3 1/2" ID and 4" od.

bingo you explained what my brain failed to do , I had a 4" pvc that would never fit so I figured the coupling would be the ticket since its bigger than the 3" and smaller than the 4" pvc. MY pyro is pre-turbo, the low end I lost is not a big deal since I will order a DP very soon which should bring that back, I really only use my truck for towing and occasional weekend use (motorcycle most of the time) so I too want longevity. Thanks for all the input guys!
Alan(amiller93) started to make a setup out of pvc. I have made one but haven't put it on yet, waiting for it to warm up a little. Have access to a heated garage now so maybe all these parts laying around the apartment will start to make there way onto the truck! It is made out of pvc and i think it will work great. I don't know if Alan ever got his installed and might have any more info on it. Here is a link to the post. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...to-intake.html
