Ok, i did an oil, filter and fuel filter change today and all went well (fuel filter was really dark after 4k miles)...
anyways, i took the ratchet and checked the IC boot clamps and they are spongey, for lack of a better word. i'm wondering if 100k miles and no CCV mod has finally done it's job and ruined the boots. there looks like some blowby on the IC tube and the nuts needed a couple of turns. if it was leaking, it has to be small, because i'm not noticing a drop in performance or milage.
my question is what boots does everyone recommend, should i go aftermarket or just get the OEM replacments and wait another 100k miles.
better yet, i should get a complete boot replacement (upper and lower IC boots and intake boots, 6.0 IC and new IC tubes and a CCV mod)?
The ones Kris pointed out are good. I would stay away from the "hump" type hoses though. I've got a set, and don't like the fit. They're about 1/4" too short for things to fit where I want them.

Are the hump hoses just for the intercooler to tube connections (2)?
Yes, but there are 4 of them, one on each end of the IC connecting tubes...2 off the intake spider and two down at the actual IC inlet/outlet.
I see we have the same year model but all my boots (4) coming off of the Y pipe are straight. I bought my truck used so they may have been changed before I got it. The two lower boots at the intercooler are hump boots. I just oordered 3 ft of marine grade 3" hose to change out all of my straight boots and now I need to get the hump boots.
Is that set for 199.00, for all boots right? Are they better then the blue ones from I think Black Cloud? I kinda like the looks of the blue ones but if the Dieselsite ones are better those are the ones I will get. Thanks for the answers

I saw those but read elsewhere that 3" marine grade exhaust hose will work for the straight hose. You can find that and the hump hoses on Ebay for a whole lot less than $199.00.
Ditto on the dieselsite boots. I bought the whole kit and they fit much nicer and tighter than OE. BTW I did the intake spider mod as well - filed the mating surfaces to the boots smooth. No more boost leaks.
I just did the SS HPX and noticed all my boots have some oil resudue near the connections. 85k miles. Not worth cleaning the boots?CCV mod is not done yet. Also, would the ccv put out enough oil to puddle in the valley? I noticed deep in the back of the valley there is a small puddle. I've only owned the truck for 2k miles and did not notice any measurable oil loss. Will clean and inspect...
I use to blue hump hoses and have no problems with them. You can get the entire set for $115.00 at www.dieselpowerproducts.com. They are out of Spokane Washington on the eastern side of the state.

There are orings below your turbo and below the turbo pedestal (4 total) that tend to leak. Location of puddle may well be oring seepage.
