Picture shown appears also in Haynes 36058 manual, this is not the proportioning valve, this is the metering valve and the tool used to keep this valve open while bleeding is performed to front brakes.
I suggest make a new post with some more detail about your truck configuration and job done, some of us will be happy to help
Correct, it is the metering valve.
On anything under a 1 ton the pin must be pulled out.
1 tons must have the pin pushed in.
I use a small kelly clamp or McGiver whatever is necessary.
I just want to clarify what valve is on my truck before I start a new post so I know Im asking the right questions. This is the valve that is on the frame rail below the drivers feet on a 79 Bronco
So this is a "metering valve" or a "combination valve" ??? If the truck has a 1 ton brake upgrade would you push the pin in or pull out to bleed the brakes? and should I have installed the valve from an F-350 when I upgraded to F-350 booster and m/c ?
