i havent had any of the flashes done yet on my 06', although i was considering getting the "buzz flash", but it seems that everytime they come out with a new flash, they seem to soon come out with a newer one and a better one? wtf? hey im all for bettering our trucks but whats the deal with all the changes?it seems like we should all just keep waiting unless we are having problems related to the new flashes, i live in new hampshire and its probably close to zero right now, i run 5-40 syn and powerservice and have nothing more than a stumble for a few seconds, then my psd is purring like a kitten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is nothing wrong with the old flash, it does what it was designed to do very well. The only "down side" is the buzz. There is going to be a broadcast on 2/7 outlining a new flash. It supposedly does something with heat. We wont know much more than that until the broadcast.
Thanks for the info, V. Everything I've heard and read confirms what you say about it doing what it is supposed to do. But if there is a new flash that works just as well and can eliminate the buzz, sign me up!
As you say, nobody will know anything definitive for a while so I'll stay tuned in for future details. Thanks again.

My dealership goes to auctions, and buys vehicles for sales. That is what my primary job is (used vehicle inspection/repair). I have had some come through that had terrible cold start troubles. Just reflashing the pcm-ficm-tcm repaired the cold start issue. Thats how I try out new techniques (not on customer vehicles).
How much does a dealership charge for this reflash and how long does it take them to perform this? I have an '03 and is no longer under warranty (if that matters) Mine is terrible on cold starts for several minutes. I put a high idle switch on mine to help it warm up faster and to prevent wetstacking but I cannot even engage the switch until it stops bucking and snorting.
So it doesn't require an overnight stay so that they can witness a cold start issue or check for other problems? Just curious... didn't know if they would require an entire diagnosic checkout before performing a reflash. Maybe I will give them a call tomorrow

Yay! I have an appt to get the buzz flash on Wednesday at 9am, truck keeps cutting off on a cold start, hoping this flash will fix it. Is there a chance I'd get the newer flash then?

The IDS is updated over the internet. The flash will be available whenever they send it through.
