Ive seen some of my offroad buddies put those spray/roll on bedliners on the frames as undercoating, as well as their fender areas. This a good idea? It seems like it would work, the only drawback i would see is the added weight (which might be nominal considering how much broncs weigh to begin with) and maybe not getting every last bit of dirt and crud off before applying. Any ideas o wise bronco owners?
if i were going to do that, i wouldn't just spray it on. i would definitely do a frame-off job. that way you CAN get everything off. but as far as i know it wouldn't matter if you still had a bit of dirt on there before you put rhino lining on. and the weight shouldn't be too much. i've heard of a lot of people doing that and they've all loved it, so seems like it works.
Rhino Lining is over-rated for the price they charge. This is what I would go with. It has a rust inhibitor built into the product. You have to remember that when you put any coating on whatsoever, its basically there to stay.

I am planning on doing this as well. The amount of weight you'll be adding at most is around 25-30lbs, and thats spread out all across the vehicle. You won't see any difference in MPG at all. But knowing you're protecting the underside of your vehicle is well worth the peace of mind
I am going to do this, but I am going to strip everything down when I do to make sure I coat everything.
I just bought my '95 F150 this past July from a dealership. They made it look really nice by applying un undercoating of some sort. The problem I am having now is I can't identify many of the aftermarket parts under my truck. It has a lift kit of some kind, but I can't figure out what it is because it's all nicely covered in this black undercoating. I guess if you know what's under there before you spray it, you'd be better off.
Spray on bedliners are NOT CHEAP - aerosol cans of undercoating are MUCH cheaper, and don't conduct the NOISE of rocks & stuff being thrown by the tires that dense polyurethane foam does. That's why I used aerosol undercoating under the body, Herculiner on the frame, and Rhino Liner all over the interior when I built this '75 Bronco for a friend:
