FX4 Shifter Removal Instructions?
This is my first post regarding my 2004 FX4.
My shifter handle got scratched on a visit to the dealer when they took down the headliner to fix some hail damage the day I purchased it.
They ignored my claim that they were responsible.
I just saw the 2006 Harley F150 and really like the shifter (leather).
Could that be added to my shifter? For that matter I could wrap it in
leather myself.
My question is, Are there any instructions on removing the shifter?
(does that loose cap come off?) The other thing that has bothered me is the button seems loose / sloppy.
Would be nice to improve on that as well.
Just looked at the TSB's, my truck is at 30K miles and will expire the warranty
sometime this summer.....do I keep it or upgrade? Was 2006 a good year?
I realize the 2004 MY was first and will have some problems.
I am going to the dealer w/ TSB's in hand and identify the problems I believe
I have been experiencing.
So far, I have reported 2 items that have been fixed.
1. Leaking rear bed light
2. Non operational cruise control
I have brought up the following but gotten nowhere:
1. Vibration in the power steering....feedback when turning wheel at speed.
2. Judder/shake in the wheel at 60mph when going straight
3. Shaking / Judder when turning at slow speed(eg parking-like 4wd is on)
4. Clunk when starting out from a stop (A-arm bushing?)
The TSB's just confirm what I had suspected.
Thanks again, this appears to be a great board!
Bryan
