Just ordered a factory DVD system for the overhead rails. My connector is much smaller than the connector on the system. System one looks like 20(ish) pin -mine is 6. Any adaptors I can use to make this work or am I screwed?
My truck is a 05 supercrew lariat.
I believe your truck is not equipt with the factory dvd option- some trucks came with the dvd player, and some didn't. there was an option for the dvd player wiring kit to be installed with out the dvd player, which is a plug and play type system-just buy the factory dvd player an install it. other trucks came with a small harness for power and grouind for some overhead rail accessories like cell phone kits or snake light kits, but are not equipt with hte dvd wiring. This is probablly what you have and cannot just plug it in.
ok, anyone know where I can purchase the harness for this, I'm sure I can install myself, but I haven't been able to locate one. The ford dealer was no help.

you can gett this harness from ford and if i can find the thread, i will get it to you on here....search the threads here and on the other f150 forums...i have seen this listed
as medic mentioned, you can get a "partial" harness from ford service parts that completes the connection to the dvd from the left rear pillar ( but not all trucks had this pillar connector fully populated) I don't have this part number handy, but doing a search you should eventually find it.
otherwise, brand motion is making and selling a full lenght harnesses from radio to dvd, as well as selling new factory dvd players.
make sure your dvd player and radio are the same model year, otherwise there are communication issues.
hey rambunctious,
i can't find anything about the harness on the brand motion website....how do you get on there to find anything?it doesn't seem to be very user friendly....
