I used headmen headers on my 68 F100 with 390. They work good but the only problem is that to change the starter you have to pull the the header out. Other then that they are great and if i remember they were arond $130 in summit.
i have used them for a year now no problem throw out the gasket that comes with it and get some copper header gaskets and if you aint took off the old manifolds spray them down with pb blaster or sea foam something like that
I am running flowtechs on my 390 in my 4x4 75 f250 crew cab. They are the two piece design and there is no way to keep them from leaking at the slip joint or at the flange. The fit is also not that great. The D/S had to be adjusted to keep it from touching the block after they were intsalled. I would recommend speading the extra $ and at min use the hedman's or something nicer.
I use the Hookers ($170 from Summit) in my 66 F100 with 390, fit beautifully and they are tuned. Definetely worth the 65 extra dollars. Only drawbwack as mentioned in an earlier post, header has to be moved to change the starter.
whatever brand you decide on, i would use copper gaskets, and repaint the headers with something worthwhile. I made the mistake of painting over hedmans **** paint.
