I'm going to buy a new carb for my pickup. The engine is out of a 71 and only has headers on it for now. I drive the **** out of my pickup and go wheelin in it now and then. I want good preformance off idle up to a max of 5000 rpm's. I have been looking into the Edelbrock Thunder series 650 cfm carb. Is it worth the extra money to get the Thunder series over the base line performer series?
I like the edelbrock carbs easy and simple to work on..but I prefere the hollys I think the throttle responce and performace is just a little better..and thats what my ford came with..two 650s flowing fill tilt is the most wonderfull sound you will ever hear..bill
Geeeez.... I wish I could be a firm believer in the old AFB style carbs..but I cant..You do know that Barry Grants Demon carbs make an off road carb that works on multi angles for off road.. Just a thought to check into... JMO...
Well ya Might just do a google on Barry Grant Carbs, and the Off Road Carbs, they'll be in the mix somewhere...Alot of Big and small shops carry his line....I just cant remember off hand where I saw the Off road muti Andle Carb..But its built just for off roader's.....
