Most people still do backflips.
Gotta tell you a story.
Wife and I were cruising along 60 mph in the right hand lane and a Mazda Miata starts crossing over from the far left lane. Me in his blind spot. He gets to the lane next to me and would have made it, but with inches to spare in front of my bumper.
I lay on the air horns and I see his head bobbing side to side like he's ready to jump right up through the convertable top.
Mount 'em right up on top, the sound will travel farther and nobody is looking for them anyway.

Great story, and I really want them to make the people pushing a shopping cart in front of me to get scared and MOVE instead of just going slower cuz someone is honking.
Where are your Horns, Dan? I didnt see any pics in you galleries
jtharvey, thanks for the clips. I think its gonna be the kong for me. Something just doesn't sound right about that. I still have to wait and talk t siege about what the new synthetic diaphragm does compared to the ss one in the sound clip. Just a matter of a response now. Feels like a couple days before Christmas for an 8 year old.
Depending where you live, mud isn't the only problem. After a few days of being on my truck, they packed up with snow. Then as they start to thaw out, the sound like a stuck pig until they are all clear. Har anyone had a problem with the compressor getting wet and dying? I had to drive through some flood waters this past weekend, and now the comp. quit. All I've had time to do so far is check the fuses and they are all good. And so far as the cops go, I had a similar situation to Kwikk when driving through Atlanta last month, whel I laid on the horns, there was an Atlanta PD cruised 2 lanes to the right. He jerked the wheel a bit, I think I woke him up. But all I got was a dirty look from him.
They're actually not loud inside the truck, but pretty damn loud outside. but the clips have them out in the trees with them mounted on the roof, or out in the open mounted on a board. You have to expect some muffling from the tires, road etc. I'm telling you, go into a downtown area where there are buildings on both sides of you, roll down the windows and letterrip. There's no way you'll be able to sit there without a big ol smile on yer face.

Yes, they will move for you.
Mine are mounted on the headache rack right in front of the flag. The tank that I have is a touch on the small side, it's only good for about 4 -5 seconds and then you have to wait for the compressor to fill the tank back up. One of my back burner projects is to find another tank and tee it in for some extra reserve.
Thanks Dan, that looks cool on your rig.
I was also thinking about putting the tank and compressor in the bed, under my toolbox. Then maybe I can make a mount and poke the horns over the cab or somewhere else. I'd need separate ones for something like that.
Just trying to think of something to help protect the compressor and tank from me, err .... i mean the elements.
TNT, I had read your comments I guess a couple of weeks ago about your Siege horns. I have been shopping for at least a couple months. I got the idea from all the posts on this forum. I read about the lack of customer service. I responded to a tread you started regarding the issues you had. In that response, I thanked you for the heads up.
However, when I searched the web I kept going back to Siege. What they were advertising at least their specs were seemingly superior to everybody else's. I was looking at the whole system. Bottom line: I bid on a set Sunday and received in Tuesday, this week. I got the 200psi system with 3 gal. tank, 1/2 inch valve, 1/2 inch hose and the Kong I horns. I haven't gotten the install complete yet. But I charged those Kongs up with my shop compressor. I promise you I was shocked. Those things are so loud and sound like a train about to run over you. They actually set me the 180 psi switch and the 200 switch. I put the 180 on based on the absolutely incredible sound I got from maybe 100 psi from the shop. I wish you would or could change your horns out for the Kong horns. Just my thoughts.
