I am trying to remember who made that nice write up with pics and all of when they mounted their air horns. I would like to take a look at that again.[/QUOTE]
That was heatstroked.
He also helped me fab up some brakets to mount both my horns. As I did not want to drill holes in my frame so we used the existing holes and a piece of 1/4 in steel to make the brackets
My wife did the raised eyebrow when she saw the price for the set. What do you need that for?? Man, I have heard that question so many times since I bought my truck.
On the topic of air horns, does anyone have a link to the website that has a bracket to mount a york 210 compressor on a 7.3 PSD motor?
I have been looking for one for a while. last fall I place my york where the second alt. goes. It looks like it will fit there at a 45 degree angle. I have seen yorks mounted Horizonal in air condition applications. A little oil in your air contition system is ok, but may not be good for your air horns or other things you may use. I'm waiting for warmer weather and time to do more testing. D...
OK, which one of all these listed sounds most like the real train horns. My buddy had a real set of real, brass (read; HEAVY) train horns on his Freightliner.Sounded EXACTLY like a locomotive....... I want that sound, not something close to it, but that same exact sound. So far it seems as though the Kong system sounds like it.
There is someone by, (or within a mile or so) of my house with a set of these. I hear him almost every evening if I'm outside.... I just want a set so people will get the hell out of my way on the drive to work every AM.....
John, call Seige Engineering and speak with Charles. He will explain the story to you. He explained it all to me. What sounds like a train to me, may be different than what a train sounds like to you. Trains have different sounds in different parts of the country. The Anvil was designed to sound more like trains generally to in the NE part of the country. The Kong is deeper, like horns more in the SW part of the country. The Hammer, is a little higher pitched than the Anvil, and to Charles it sounds the most like a train; he grew up next to an Amtrak station in the Midwest.
The Kong is the loudest and deepest (to me, biggest) sounding system they have. There's no other option for me.
They should have them back in a few weeks. I emailed them to ask not too long ago. My guess is they sold all of them they had and are in the process of making some new ones.
I did the 3 liter hammer system. I bought direct from Seige. I got the 120psi system. First off, the problem I have, is that I got the system back around Feb 2nd. I was leaving for FL on the 8th. The main brass tube that feeds the tank was crushed when I recieved it. I spent 4 hours and $15.00 getting the parts to rig it up to work for my trip. When I got home, I had an email that they wanted me to pay $8.00 plus shipping for the part. Kinda BS to me. But other than the customer service sucking, I like the horns. The 3 liter system is definately NOT the way to go though. A 1 second blast gets the compressor running. A 3 second blast gets the comp running for 2-3 minutes. I'd really like to get set up with a 200 psi system with a 5+ gallon tank and regulate it down to 150 or so, so the comp won't run as much. I also think the Kong II will sound better than the hammer. But since Seige doesn't care about customer satisfaction, I guess I'll have to look elseware to build my system.
has anyone looked at their FIVE horn setup that Seige has ?
My buddy just bought that system. We'll be hooking it up on his truck in the next couple of weeks. I'm curious to see how it sounds, and how it will compare to the Kongs once I eventually get some horns.
I will say, 1. people get outta your way, 2. when you blast someone crossing the street in front of you, you WILL smell the poop, and 3. If you happen to HONK at someone on the highway and an Atlanta cop is next to you, he WILL s#&t a brick!! , 4. The smile will NEVER leave your face, and you will smile in your sleep as you picture the looks you get from everyone!
dmueller I'm suprised at the customer service issues you had with Seige. I asked Cody a lot of questions before and after I bought 2 of their valves I use in my sytem and he was VERY helpful and answered all my questions. In fact for these valves they didn't even charge shipping.
I will say the bigger tank makes a better system. I have mine set up with a 9 gallon tank, and I'm actually considering a 14 !

Dmueller, Yeah I am shocked to hear of the bad service I got great service both times I spoke to charles.
TNT, 14 gallon, wow. Why? I have a 5 gallon and that supplies both air horns, air bags, and runs air tools plus fills tires. I guess if yu need more air you neeed more.
Since I installed my 3 horn set, I have not had as many close calls of people pulling into my lane etc. They do get their attention. Use caution blowing them at pedestrians.... if they are elderly you might send them to an early grave.
