My current toy is a 99 Camaro SS, iron 370 shortblock, stock crank, eagle rods L19 bolts, diamond -14.9cc pistons, heads are gonna be stock LQ9 escalade heads, cam is as yet unecided, procharger D1SC set on kill, th400 on a brake, 9" or strange D60 are gonna be ordered in the next week or two. Should be up and running in aboout 2 months hopefully.
That whole block was engineered by Katech for the Corvettes that won 24hrs LeMans. Very reliable and strong but expensive. The other cheaper way was to get a resleeved LS1 stock block which had lots of problems in 2001 when they just started doing that. So far I have 50000 miles on the engine with no major problems other than broken valve springs.
And with my new engine going in in a couple weeks, I hope to be turning in low 11 second ET's at Lightning Fest this year...towed there by the Excursion, of course!
I was down in Texas for a racing event and one of the guys down there had a lifted 4x4 7.3 Ex. For fun we decided to fill the truck up with people and take it down the track. It pulled a 17.1 with 8 people in it and consistent 16.6's otherwise.
I'd like to race mine once I get the Kenne Belle on there.
So this begs the question: What kind of race cars do you guys have?
This is my toy... It's a 98' GTP with a turbo 3800. Our company deals specifically with aftermarket performance parts for the 3800. Note the F150 towing it. 120,000 miles on the original 300 and E4OD and it still tows the setup. It's not even rated to tow that trailer...
I would be very gratefull if your company starts working on the n-body 3400, or figure out how to swap the 3800 s/c 4t65hd into our Aleros...our weak link right now is the 4t45. I have seen pics of your car before on either aleromod.com or grandamgt.com....very sweet
