C4 Conversion

Hello all,
Read a posting from last year about a C4 Swap. Has any one stuffed one under there Econo??? I have The two bolt top mount for the tranny, does any one know if there is an aftermarket brace or mount. I'll probably have to fab something my self, but I just wanted to check to see if anyone has done this.

there used to be a guy in cali that fabbed a lot of parts for econo's, unfortunatly he passed away.

if you can find a tail section from a 65-67 econo you can do a swap with that. might be easier to fab up a crossmember tho. also, you need to have a 9 inch rearend to make things a lot easier, small rear ends use an econo only u-joint. and there is no crossover joint to be had.

Factory c4's were hung from the top ... using the rear set of the six holes provided. No cross members ... Mechanical kick down from a rod in the gas pedal linkage ... these set ups are rare but not impossible to find ... including the auto shift column

I have a 65 Econoline factory C-4 auto with a 300 out of 73 F100. I'll sell you the engine, tranny, column and all the linkage and pedals for $600. Another $150 for the Ford 9" rear end.

Thanks for all the tips! I actually just found a 170 out of a falcon and am going to stay stock and use the other motor I have for tins and parts. To change subjects, where can I find sheet metal for this beast!! Been to many junk yards and online and can't find what I need! Specifically need a Passenger door and tail gate and some other small items. Any help would be appreciated.

door will be used part only, tail gates depend on condition. i saw a n.o.s. tailgate, still in the origional box, sell for 1000 bucks from freind to freind! good used gate in pretty good shape will bring 400-500 bucks. and they will go on down from there. ebay has one occasionaly, but they are usually way over priced.

click on the sponsors full list link at the top of the page and look for macs antique auto parts. they will have some side rocker peices for econos. other than that its cut them out of another econo, or build your own!

where are you located?
