Question Tranny swap?

Hello all, My first question to this forum is this. I have to replace the tranny in my bronco, it has a C6 now, I want a 4 speed. Is there a 4speed close enough in length to fit without cutting and welding and relocating the crossmember and having new driveshafts made? Thanks in advance. Matt

What year is your Bronco and what engine is in it? Are you talking about installing a four speed manual or automatic?

don't forget to take into account the fact that you'll need a different transfercase adapter.

I don't know about the fit, but the easiest will probably be an AOD tranny because the E4OD will require all of the wiring and electronics to be transfered with it to make it work.

Matt351, I have a 90 with 5.0 and AOD automatic but I'm changing the engine to a 351W. I've found that all I have to do to use my AOD transmission is to change the flexplate (flywheel) to one that is for a Crown Victoria that had the 351W/AOD. So you need basically the same thing. Get an AOD transmission from a Bronco or F150 4X4 with torque converter and the flexplate from the Crown. Your BW1356 transfer case will bolt right up to it.
