there is a few guys on this forum that can resite all the demensions of these trucks by memory in their sleep.
problem for measuring the two chassis's are that i do not have a 67 to 72 yet. i prefer the 67 to 72 model. but if a early model body is better suited for the chassis then i would go that way. but it has to be a short bed
Anything can be done with enough cash & effort, having said that, if your asking if a 67-72 will bolt up to a post 96 FoMoCo F-150 chassis the answer is absolutely NOT. You will have to fabricate & fit the body parts & chassis to accept each other. . . .
For starters horizontal profiles are not even close. Wheel bases are different. So are track widths in both 4X2 & 4X4 applications. Even the 80-85 or 86-96 aren't a bolt up deal either.
For that matter, the most popular frame to upgrade to (IMHO) 73-79 is not a direct bolt up for bed. The cab & front sheetmetal are drop on ~ bolt up, but that's it. A bed still needs to be refitted due to increased C-A width & length of 73 & later chassis designs & configurations.

Easier way would be to swap the suspension over from a newer rig, an example would be the older cars/trucks with say a mustang or nova clip swap.
Don't know that I would buy into that, what Pete started with is on the money. It will take some skill and money, but I think it might be do-able.
There is a 66 that is merged into a Lightning here in North Carolina. Several mods had to be done but it happened. A Slick front clip was added to the Lightning cab along with 66 bed sides. A real piece of work.
