Hi Guys (and Gals!). I have a 1972 F100 2WD short wheelbase in NSW Australia. I know the 73-79 chassis is the same as the 67-72 from the rear of the cab forward, my question is what about the 80 and later chassis? will the 72 cab and front sheetmetal bolt on to the later chassis or not? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Glenn
G'Day Aussie, Welcome to FTE and the 67-72 Forum here
In A word NO.
Not the same not really even very close. Definitely not a bolt up & drive away scenario. Of course with enough Time, Money, and enthusiasm, anything is possible so I'll not tell you it's impossible, but I'm not going to do one.
Cheers

Copy That Glen.
My 66 F-100 sits on a 79 F-150 Trailer Spcl SWB. The rear frame area or CA is +3inches wider and the wheel base is +2 inches longer but it's all workable. The cab & front Sheetmetal is a direct bolt up deal however, it fits well.
