06 wheel backspace ?

I have search but I haven't really found what I was looking for. I am planning on throwing a set of 33x13.5x18 tires on my 06 diesel f-350. The wheels are I want are 18x9 with a backspacing of either 4.5" or 5". Im not to sure what would suit me better. I will be using a level kit if that makes a differance. I see that alot of the 04 and older use a 4.5" backspacing but I know those trucks are differant due to the fact of the leafs up front. Thanks in advance

Stock back spacing is 6". I would go for as close to that as you can unless you are running flares.

I got a set of 325/65/18's on 18x8.5's with 4.75" backspacing using a 4.5" DR kit. Looks killer with the tires sticking out a tad. You could use the 5" BS but with that wide tire you could have issues rubbing if you move the wheel in closer.

I'm running 325/65/18 on stock 18x8 rims w/6" offset and have no rubbing at all. tires do not stick out or hit anything at any angle.

I am running 35x12.50x18 on stock rims. I don't like it but until I get a straight answer on the back spacing I will not purchase any rims until there is a set number. I called three places and they all said something different. So I will not spend $1500 on rims that may fit or may rub or not fit at all!

Im thinking about just going with the 4.5in backspacing then. Plus i like a deep lip, so that extra 1/2" will look good.

I have not gotten a definite answer to this question. I read the owners use 5" - 6" backspace.I own a 2005 F350 4x4 Diesel and there is no single answer!

Did you measure the backspacing on your stock rims?

I have an '05 F350 that I just swapped whells and tires on. I too was worried about getting the right combo of wheel width and backspacing.

The stock backspacing is 6". I replaced them with 18x9 procomp wheels with 5.5" of backspacing. The tires are BFG 305 / 65 / 18. This combo measures about 33.6 " tall, and I have absolutely no rubbing anywhere at any time. They stick out from the fender by about 1/2 inch. You can see pics in my gallery. Hope this helps MrMike.

I was looking at the 18x9 rims also and when I saw the backspacing 1/2" smaller I was worried that the rims would fit.One rim mfg told me the rims they make will not fit now but later they were going to make the backspacing to fit the 2005 F350

that is the delema with my 35x12.50x18 on the stock rims of my 2006 f350.I just put a 8in Rize 4 link kit on and at full turn i get rubbing in the lower track bars of the kit.I am going to get 38 with 4.5in backspaceing and hope these will fit my truck and solve the problem.
