[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-May-02 AT 10:24 PM (EST)]i have a 1941 ford (pretty much the same thing) with a flathead in it when i pulled the motor i pulled the trams right with it it was pretty easy if u have 2 people to do it.
Depends on how you are pulling the motor. If you have all of the fenders and front sheetmetal on then you'd be better off unbolting the trans from the engine and pulling them as 2 pieces. Just remember to support the front of the tranny before loosening everything. If the front sheetmetal is off, then just unbolt the shifter assembly, remove it, put a rag over the open trans and pull everything out as 1 piece. That's the way I pulled out the engine and trans from my '46.
