DTC P0083-Does anybody recoginize this code??
Hello All,
I posed this question over on the diesel page and didn't find anyone who could help me. I am getting a TDC P0083 from my code reader. The reader is a Hypertech tuner/programer for 2001-2003 7.3's. The guys on the diesel page say that this is not a Ford diesel code and its not listed on the chart they sent me. I contacted Hypertech and they assured me it is a legitimate code. Generic Ford charts say its a intake control valve solenoid high. I have tried clearing the code and it comes back a short time later. There are no symptoms, the X runs fine. Its just the darn check engine light is always on! Can anyone help me???

According to the info I have, it's not a Ford specific code, but rather, it's a generic DTC.

I did get the scan tool from Autozone and the code registers as P0683 on that tool. Hmm, some glow plug issue it seems. Thanks for the suggestion about another tool XylemXorro. Know where I can get a breakout box for free too????
