Relocating Radiator

I'm building up a '77 f150 for my trail truck. The box is already gone, going to fab a full roll cage and going to move the radiator to the rear of the truck. What would be the best way to connect the radiator to the engine? Tubing like pcv, steel or braided stainless hose?

I would use stainless exhaust pipe. Have an exhaust shop fab it up for you.

Regular PVC WILL melt it isnt rated for temps that high unless it is HPVC...but I dont think they sell HPVC in a daimeter large enough. Stainless steel exhaust pipe would probalby work well but make sure you dont have any sharp bends to restrict flow. Out of curiosity..why are you gonna move the radiator out back? Are you gonna be doing some mudding as well? Im not questioning why you would do it but trying to find out the best materials for the type of use it will be seeing.

Thanks for all the info. Well its a trail truck but from past trips i tend to get very muddy and have packed my radiator full of mud. I think exhaust pipe will be the best i looked up braided stainless and for -28 AN its like $400 for 20 ft.

Yeah thats a good reason... my thought on it too is that if its a trail truck..you might want to see about getting the pipe coated to protect it from flying rocks and any external moisture that might attack the welds. Something like Rhino liner may work but ask about the temps and see if its resistant to it.

I run AN-20 kevlar braided hose for my upper radiator hose, and 1-1/2 conduit lke you can buy at lowes or home depot for the lower hose, you don't need to go with stainless. Certian other people I know have run aluminized exhaust pipe and a couple of others used copper water pipe all of them work just fine and a lot cheaper than $400.

radiator relocation

stainless is a waste of cash your antifreeze will prevent rust on the inside and a spray can will take care of outside the only other thing is you water pump cap.
many proform veh use an in line pump

1.5 EMT with rubber hose to connect it. Its cheap and will hold up to the temp and pressure.
