Red door panel lights

I have a F-350 XL which only has reflectors insode the doors, and I would like to put light bulbs underneath them.

as far as the plastic mechanical issue everything is ready, not much to do there.
is there a wiring preperation for the lights? is there a wiring diagram that someone has?

Here are a few pics of the light installed in the doors for the Red Light for anyone with questions on what to do.

http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k1.../door%20light/

POSITIVE wire is fed thru the door and tied into the black wire with blue trace found under the kick panel/door jamb.

GROUND wire is connected to a bolt on the door.

POSITIVE power to passenger door i ran a wire under the carpet from the drives door since i couldn't get wire of same color on pass side to work.

That's from a actual post i posted the other day..

Talking Well . . .

The black w/ blue tracer wire runs the entry lights; dome, running boards, etc. The door lights will will go on everytime you remote key pad entry, unlock the doors w/ key fob, or open the doors to get out.

You can purchase the correct lens from Ford. It was around $10.00 when I did mine. Ford eliminated the courtesy light in the doors and began installing the red reflector lens in or around December 2002 for the 2003 model year trucks. In other words, early 03's had the courtesy lights and the later 03's did not.

My 03 crew, don't know the build date, has courtesy lights in the front doors and reflectors in the rear doors.

Good tips. I've been thinking about those reflectors for a while. It'd be nice to have them light up.

I believe that they were that way prior to the 2003 Model year - December 2002 change to reflectors for all trim packages. Prior to that, I think they just used a diffferent lens cover and added the bulb for the Lariat and King Ranch type stuff but all may have been wired. I suspect this was one of the reasons they stopped offering the lighted door panels.
