Lately, I've had alot of probs with my 96 conversion van. The last job on it was to replace all the brake lines, metal, and rubber. I did away with the ABS system due to chronic problems, and a lousey pedal.
Everything is finished, and works great. The only problem I'm having is securing the metal line that runs front to back. I've got it attatched to the gas tank strap shackles with coat hanger wire for now. It feels pretty secure for now, but I'd like to improve this system in the spring when the weather warms.
The original line runs down through the frame just behind the HCU. It's a mess in the frame, so I'm not thinking of using the old clips.
Any suggestions on what to use to do more of a professional job are appreciated.
Being in MA and salted roads, undercoat the lines, put vaseline around the connectors so salt can't get between the fitting and line, then put rubber fuel line around the line where you are going to attach it. I use black plastic zip ties that are U.V. rated. You can put the lines in 9mm spark plug wire grommets too.
