i have got a fuel leak on my 2000 f350 PSD and seems to be comeing from the bleeder valve on the fuel bowl. anyone ever have this to happen and if so how hard is it to fix?thanks
There is an o-ring kit you can get. here is a link to one, I am sure someone else will chime in soon with another link. fuel o-rings The new fuels seem to be the culprit causing this problem. Shouldn't take too long to repair, just 4 screws to remove the drain valve.
thanks guys, i ordered the o-ring set yesterday. they said on the pure diesel site that it was due to the new "no-sulfer" fuel that was eaten up the o-rings. thanks again
I have just developed a leak on my 2002 7.3 also. Came here looking for some info. Not sure where the leak is however. Can smell fuel oil coming through the defroster only after restarting the engine after a short shutdown period (a couple minutes or longer). I don't smell it when starting the engine after its been sitting for a while (overnight) or during operation. Could this be the same thing?
could possibly be the same. mine started after it idled for a min or two. there is a bleeder valve (the one with the bad o-rings) on the back of the fuel bowl and it will drain down to the ground and i had a small puddle of fuel is how i noticed it. then i looked under neath and traced where it was comeing from
