Yes I resolved it---I should have posted the answer at this thread but I started a new thread---my mistake

It was a air filter---Fram---didn't fit properly---I still am using it but found a way to center it in the housing better---I'm hoping when it comes time to replace it that I'll find a motorcraft that fits better.
Pull your air filter and look at the sealing surface---should be indents in the rubber---if it isn't uniform all the way around you have the same problem I had.

Thanks, I'll take a look at this tonight and let you know. I've also read about a procedure which replaces a hard plastic factory hose with a flexible hose. I'll check both options out.
