F350 XLT problem after start

Hey Guys,

i have a crazy noise after every cold start for a few seconds and when i drive my Truck and hold the rpm the noise come again and my Truck lost the boost.

I think its the VCV or a problem in the DPF system.

Here is a short Audio from the noise. It comes after 11 Seconds.

Truck Information:
1995 F-350 XLT 7.3L Turbo with straight pipe

I hope anybody can help me.

Greetings from Germany

That is an icky sounding noise sir!

Almost sounds like some sort of Air/Vac leak.

Hey thanks for your support!
I check the air and Vac system next morning.

This is what i think too but the only problem at this failure is i have the noise only on a cold motor.

So if you warmed the motor up and then started it, it would not make this noise?

The Motor is warmed up not so long only for 2 or 3 seconds.

i believe that is the exhaust back pressure valve closing to aid in engine warmup.
this is a question best asked in the 94-97 powerstroke forum, down in the diesel section.
the guys down there will help you get everything running tip top shape.

Ok the problem is the sensor for the EBPV.

I`ve unplugged the connector and my Truck runs normal.
Need my Truck this Sensor absolutely? Not really!?

Thanks for your great support Guys!

I do not have a EBPV on my 1995 5.0L and does about the same thing. One of these days I might try to find out what the noise is.

Tom is right. It is the EBPV. It aids in engine warm up. I have been disconnection mine since I have been into power strokes(13 years)

Some can be REALLY finicky and come one when they are not needed. Some truck will throw a code if disconnected(use a 10ohm resistor to stop CEL)

I unplug mine and if I ever take the turbo off, I remove the butterfly for better exhaust flow
