Do you know if the superduty is changing body style in 2004?

I agree about the shifter. THE F-150 IS A TRUCK, not a freaking glorified car (dispite popular opinion).

I wonder if its going to be steered by voice recognition (notice no steering wheel)

Are you kidding me?!?! That looks awful! I guess I'm gonna have to save for another 5 years so I can buy a new s/d instead of a half ton. God knows I'm not gonna drive something that ugly. I agree, bring back anything from 87-96, and I'll be happy.

That interior DOES look awful! The shifter only goes in the floor on a Toyota!!

My cousin who is a Ford salesman told me the new F-150 interior isn't that much different....guess we'll have to wait and see. But I sure hope it doesn't look like these pictures....that's ridiculous. Why do all these companies think their new vehicles have to look like space ships? Why can't they just build a truck anymore?

I've heard that Ford is actually planning to offer 4 or 5 different interiors in the new F150 - and I think only one of them has the shifter on the floor (it'll probably be the interior of the new Lightning). Personally, I think offering different interiors doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense - could the additional sales (if there were any) possibly make up for the extra tooling costs and assembly-line work? I don't think so, and I'd rather see them spend the money on the drivetrain (or just reduce the truck's price). Who buys a truck based on the interior anyway? Personally, I just want a truck that can sit three across comfortably, where I can see the gauges and reach the controls, and that doesn't start squeaking and rattling after 3 months.

As far as the looks of the truck go, I'm going to withhold judgement until I see one in person. I'm hoping the final truck doesn't really have those oddball projector-type headlights with the clear lenses - they may be popular, but they're still ugly and just don't look right on a pickup. I assume most of the sheetmetal will be virtually the same as the sheetmetal on the '03 Expedition, and I'm not really a fan of that look - but if they did a better job with the grille it wouldn't be as bad.

On the plus side, if the new F150 is ugly it gives me more reason to go out and buy a new diesel Superduty.

okay, i must admit, i like the looks of the superduty, i really do. but for that type fo styling, a truck just has to be BIG for it to work. the little half-tons should get a more rounded body, still aggresive, but not kenworthy. bring something smooth into the mix, something that isnt all ninety degree edges, and youll have a friend for life.

on a slighty to the side note, i talked to one of the guys on the f-150 team who test drove it out on the proving grounds in AZ, said it was rock solid at (IIRC) 105, which is where the speed limiter stepped in.

Well, if i had money to be picky i'd buy a truck for it's interior, this is after all where I'll be, not on the grille, or headlamps lol. But why don't they just make a better interior to begin with? I must admit the fords don't flow well inside (newer ones) it looks like some parts weren't made specifically for their application and were just shoved in there to save money, like the radios for example still have that cheap green luminescence to them, in a day and age where onboard computers aren't heard of can't you give us something we don't feel we have to go right out and replace with a kenwood right away? Have u seen the new king ranch edition SD? They could have at least made the dashboard look like it belonged with the leather, perhaps some wood grain or something.

But i still love them so i can't complain. I wish they'd do a wrap around style like the chevies, it gives it a more truck like feel, I'm the only one that needs to reach the controls, the passengers can keep their grubby hands off them. Plus it gives a feeling of snugness that i like cus im short and i have to lean forward to reach the radio which can be a pain when im trying to drive. I know ya'll will tell me to quit whining and be a man but I think if you're gonna drop 30 grand on a vehicle they should pay a lot of attention to detail. Hence why i should work there.
