The trans temp is only going to change when pulling heavy or no air flowing across cooler...
The pyro and boost gauge are if you are runing a tuner or mods, when to get out of it and when to know your turbo needs cleaning or work.
the EGT is also good if towing heavy loads especially when climbing hills.

Yes in fact it will. Don't get me wrong, the more gauges you have the better picture you have of whats going on. I work on medium hp rated, high speed natural gas stationary engines. The pyro is used only to see if you have a cylinder down (misfiring, or valves out of adjustment) or to verify that the air/fuel ratio is correct, hence it is not on the panel board where you start the engine from, it is on the side of the engine. I ranked them in order of importance of what they let you know what is going on internally with the engine. Engine oil temp is the first one to look at, oil pressure follows in the opposite direction (hotter the oil the less oil pressure). Next I look at the manifold pressure gauge to see how much load is on the engine, following that I look at oil pressure, then cylinder temps at the pyro. This is just for someone who may not have all the money to do all the gauges at one time. The first one I would install is the oil temp. Now when running a tuner, pyro is necessary, boost is nice but not a do or die gauge. Water temp ranks a close 3rd to the boost, because it also gives you a picture of what your oil temp should be. (they normally run pretty close together) Trans temp and voltage are just vanity gauges, many people here who have trans temp gauges are supprised to see how cold or cool the torqshift runs even when towing and have asked several times in this forum if what they are seeing is correct readings. That in its self lowers it on the priority list for me. The more gauges the better, that goes without saying, but for someone who is modding on a budget this is pretty critical info.
I am thinking of going with the under dash mount for the 99-04 models, it will cost me the little drawer under my upfitters but think it will be worth it unless someone has a better under dash idea?
