Anyone here have a truck with the 3 Gauge A-Arm Mount? I'm curious as to what gauges you are running.. I know for sure you want Turbo Boost and the gauge that measures the Exhaust Temp... Forgot the name of it.. Anything else? Volt meter? I dunno.. I know I want those two gauges for sure..
I like the looks of the pillar set up, and Lonewolftx installation of the voltmeter is primo, but I want to mount some gauges on the dash above the radio. I want to keep the hand hold that is on the pillar now.
I have seen a couple of mounts for two or three gauges, but I would like to have one set up for four or five. Plastic would be my material of choice, but since I can't seem to find anyone who makes such an animal, I guess I'm going to have to attempt this creation myself, so I'm thinking about some sheet metal, or making a mold and doing it in fiberglass.
Either way I think that route is going to take me a while to get it just the way I want it. I'd like to mount it with some of that super strong 3m tape, or maybe hide the mounting screws, and I want it to look like it came that way from the factory.
Engine Oil temp
Exhaust Pyro
Boost gauge
Water Temp
Trans Temp
Voltage
Minus the volt gauge, everything else will follow the Engine Oil temp (rising or falling) It should be considered the the first gauge to trust or look at if you think something is going on with the engine. The trans temp is only going to change when pulling heavy or no air flowing across cooler, as it is thermostaticly controlled, which makes flushing it a pain in the wintertime. I think it is a useless gauge as far a performance and monitoring goes. Other than Matt, who has grenaded a torqshift here?
The pyro and boost gauge are if you are runing a tuner or mods, when to get out of it and when to know your turbo needs cleaning or work. The boost gauge has been of some relevence in stock trucks, but very little in modded ones. That leaves water temp, which can be used to verify the oil temp to compair to. Volt gauge is pretty useless to me as well, right about the time you see something on the volt gauge your message center will give you a code.

I have a four gauge a-pillar and four gauge pods on top of the dash centered over the radio. I used AutoMeter Carbon Fiber Cups and used black bolts and nuts to attach them to the dash. Doesn't really look "Factory", but I like them. I didn't want them all the way up above the mirror. I mounted all my pressure gauges in the cups on the dash (Oil, Fuel, Boost and Nitrous Bottle) and on the A-pillar I mounted my Tempature gauges and a volt meter (Water, EGT, Trans and Volts).
I have some old pics in my gallery that show when I had just three gauge cups on my dash. I'm trying to get my gallery updated currently with pics of all my new mods.
I Have A 4 Guage A Pillar Mount Water Temp , Oil Pressure, Egt, Trans Temp, Also Thinking About A Few Above The Mirror, Volt Meter, Maybe Oil Temp, And A Boost Gauge Since I Have My New Accufab Polished Intake Has A Port For Boost, Guess We Will Just Have To See, And You All Are Right The Factory {idiot} Gauges Are Junk, Feels Much Better To Know What Is Really Going On
I have the same as you, was wondering what color bulb sleeve you used. I used the red thinking of switching to the green.
Used red on the 3 pillar guages and green on the volt dash as it matched the dash setup of the KR. Might go green all around after the Holidays as it is the most readable. The red is a little too dark for me. Have both red gell & red lights in the pods.
WINGEDPIG: There is a 4/3/2 (your choice)gauge pod for the center windshield that mount above the rear view mirror. There is a single pod gauge mount for the piller that would allow you to run 5 gauges and keep the piller handhold.
I personally don't like the 2/3/4 gauge piller style cause I feel like the gaues are right in my face. I'm considering the single mount since it will be low to the dash I just need to hammer down all the gauge options for what I really need to monitor.
I'm planning on adding some gaugesto my rig in the spring. The volt meter is a nice touch....gotta do that one. The A-pillar pod looks great. Thanks for sharing what you have done. It helps to make better decisions.

Thanks. Sounds great, where do you get them from? Do you have a link for where I might find them?
I have seen a few of the pods that mount above the mirror, but all the ones that I looked at said they would not fit my truck (07 Lariat SC) due to the electronic mirror.
I really don't mind making my own mold and then fabricating what I want out of fiberglass, but a ready made solution might be a bit easier.
