Hey guys my CD player in my truck quit working an have no clue why. I installed a CD cleaner an it run for awhile after that but now nothing. The CD will pop out an not play. Is it hopeless or can it be fixed? This is the factory CD player. Any help appreciated. Thanks
What was it doing before you tried the lens scratcher/cleaner? Are the other functions of the radio working properly (AM/FM etc.)?
In most cases when the CD player ejects the CD its because its not able to read the TOC (Table Of Contents) on the disc itself. Usually thats caused from the optical pick up being out of alignment and/or dirty. In either case it should be professionally aligned/cleaned.
There are a few places that work on OEM units - its rarely worth the cost however. They usually try and dupe you into a core exchange for several hundred $$ - a nice aftermarket CD player can be had for less than $200 INSTALLED.
