dumb question?

i took off the bowl to check my fuel filter on my, 1986 f-150 302 efi. , when i put it back on the o-ring / seal in their was broken now all the gas has leaked out through the bowl. does anyone know what that part is called. i checked autozone and advanced they have no clue what im talking about.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about either. In what part of the truck did you find this "bowl" you mentioned? All the Ford filters I've dealt with you just replaced. There wasn't any "checking" them. Give a little more info and I'm sure you'll get some help here.

its the canister that the fuel filter is in. the part that screws off has a seal in it and that seal is broke. i need to know what that canister thing is called. its under the drivers side on the rail of the truck.

go to the parts store and get a new filter, it will come with that o-ring
