hrm, im not sure that a sc is any diff from even my ranger with kick panels. my friend had them and i liked them alot. just be carefull about not actually kicking them. they sounded pretty good
Ive used Q-forms in 2 of my vehicles - theyre not bad for the $$ and ease of installation. I added 1/2 MDF baffles and lots of Dynamat to mine which helped. After a couple of days getting used to them being there I hardly noticed them. Only draw back in a truck vs. a car is the low position relative to the listener - lowers the sound stage a bit IMO.
Thanks for the reply cln2po. How did you make the baffles? I think I'm going to have to do some modding to my q-forms to fit the 6 1/2" components since q-forms says it only will hold a 6 1/8" in my truck. It's an expensive project if I screw them up!
I'm starting to wonder if they are even worth it. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure mounting the components in the doors isn't going to give me the sound I am looking for. I still hope the kicks will be better even though they are so low relative to the listening position. I guess I will see!!
Heres a link to an older site of mine with some detailed pics that should help. As far as using a 6-1/2 - its possible - I did it in my '92 Accord coupe - it depends on how beefy the basket of the woofer is. Set your speaker upside down on the Q-form baffle - if it fits inside the lip for the grill then you are in luck - it should fit fine.

In the link above I used an 3-way Alpine set - 6's in the doors, 5 and tweeter in the kicks. I was much happier with the look of the Alpine grills vs. the cheesy Q-form set.
Awesome! Thanks man. I appreciate the pics and the time you took to post everything. That gives me some confidence to tackle this. I still havent pulled the trigger on the speakers . I have thought about 3-ways but was unsure if I could get a woofer to fit in the door of the F250. I really liked how yours turned out so putting the 5" mid and tweet may be the ticket. Thanks again.
I had a set of rockford fosgate 6 1/2" components in a set of kick panels i made out of mdf and fiberglass in my 2000 f-150 supercab. I put two 5" mid bass speakers in each door panel where the factory speakers used to be, took alot of cutting and fabricating. It was one of the best sounding front stages i've had, i've tried alot of different combos. If you do some homework you can make a set of kick panels for about 20 bucks and they aren't hard at all.
